The Machinery Technology Development Co., Ltd.(MTD) was established by the Academy of Machinery Science & Technology (AMST) as the major founder in collaboration with BeijingDadi Technology Industry General Corporation, Xinjiang Tianye (Group) Co., Ltd., Central Iron & Steel Research Institute , ChineseAcademy of Agricultural Mechanization Sciences, and Beijing General Research Institute of Mining & Metallurgy. It is a high-tech enterprise dedicated to development, manufacturing and marketing for environmental protection equipment and engineering, new techniques and equipment for machine-electronics integration, and precise technology and products.

The MTD was established on March 26, 2002 with approval from National Economy and Trade Committee, and registered with Beijing Administration of Commerce and Industry on May 31,2002. and the registered capital is RMB 60 million yuan.

The major founder of the MTD is the Academy of Machinery Science & Technology, which is a large technology enterprise among the first batch to be transferred directly under the central government in China. The AMST consists of Harbin Welding Institute, Shenyang Research Institute of Foundry, Beijing Research Institute of Automation for Machine-Building Industry, Beijing Research Institute of Mechanical & Electrical Technology, Zhengzhou Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Wuhan Research Institute of Material Protection and First Institute of project planning & Research for Machine Building Industry. It also own 7 national and ministry engineering technique research centers, 11 product quality examination centers, 7 national productivity promotion centres,16 Doctorate and Master's degree awarding centers. It is a comprehensive scientific and technological research center and industrial technology service center in China's machinery equipment industry. It has independent foreign affairs examination and approval right and self-running foreign trade import and export rights.
